Kids were not fussy eaters then either "lump it or starve" were the words most mums used. So cats got what they were given and you didn't get a fussy cat in those days That cat food smelt disgusting and was just mush but those cats ate it and rubbed against your legs while you were opening the tin like it was steak. "cat food" flavour at that time I think there was only one other cat food manufacturer, not sure what one. I was so fed up with taking carrier bags of unused cat food to the foodbank.īut when I think back to my childhood my mums cats only got the choice of kitekat (sp) and that only had one flavour.
At this stage I am willing to give anything a go. Put it down, leave it for 20mins take it up, same again the next feed time and keep doing this. I used to have fussy cats until I stopped pandering to them.įind a brand you know they have eaten before without a fuss and stick to it. Maybe if I tried cheap tins she might eat it I will just keep trying anyway she will eventually have to eat something. Felix As Good As It Looks is her favourite and occasionally she will eat Gourmet. not sure what else to suggest really - have you asked your vet for any advice? might be worth a shot.ĭifferent brand of food maybe? mine loves Felix As Good As It Looks and Iams You could go down the fresh chicken/egg/fish route. Thanks for your suggestion anyway and yes it is frustrating, I am so happy when she eats I bought a couple of tins of applause which she ate so I then bought quite a few as it was on offer then she refused to eat it.
You could try it too and good luck - I know how frustrating it is when your cat wont eat the food you put in front them yesterday or earlier that day - I spend a fortune and waste so much food but *shrug* Sounds exactly like my cat! she is a fussy eater too and when she wont eat her wet food I have those really expensive Sheba round packs (they come in chicken or tuna flavour) about 80p for a really small tub - anyways, I put her wet food in the bowl and put a tiny little dollop of this Sheba on the top (its literally chicken in a juice or tuna in a juice) and she gobbles it up - wet food as well (she is a tiny bit thick so she probably doesnt notice she is actually her normal wet food)
